Schedule week 48

After our adventures in Russia, it's time to hit stages again in Holland. On saturday, we have to gigs !
  • December 1st - Pump Up The 90's, Gorinchem
  • December 1st - Wonderful Days, Dordrecht

Very cool parties .. one pretty commercial and the other good old happy hardcore ! YES!

November 24th - JE Crew anniversary party, Moscow

The day after it was time for Moscow ! Since the last time we played there in april we have a lot of love for the scene there ! You guys just now how to make a party !

So our expectations were a bit high.

We travelled from St. Petersburg to Moscow by Sapsan train, and although it's approx. 700km, we did it in about 4 hours. Great trainride btw. Deluxe! We got served food and drinks, and it was better than most flights.

When we arrived at Moscow, we were picked up by Yury ( from JE Crew ). The drive to the city was about 45min. ( with the crazy ass Moscow traffic! )

The hotel we stayed in was called Oksana, and it was not too far from the club ( north from the city ). The rooms were okay although we had a one person bed ( it was a while ago I slept in an one person bed lol ). The rest was fine though.

We waited for my man John ( Dj Nexes ) and Pavlenty ( Dj Nail ) to go to the restaurant. We all wanted to go to eat sushi, so we went to
Тануки ( Tanuki in English ) avery stylish Japanese restaurant which was all in Japanese theme .. even the waitresses. Very cool.

The food was more than delicious. We had plenty of maki's, and some special dishes like tofu. We also had fun talking, because we have never met Dj Nexes before.

Before we went to the club, it was time to get ready in the hotel. A quick refresh and off we go !

Monaclub was just around the corner, so this time no long drive. It was pretty much Dj Nexes' turn to play so we could say hi to people we already knew .. so cool to see lots of people who we already saw in april. Hardcore people worldwide are always dedicated to hardcore, that's the beauty of the scene !

After John's set ( which was very energetic and raw, I loved it ! ) it was time for us to rock the stage ! Again, it was not super crowded, but the people who were there partied like it should be ! Much much respect to the Moscow hardcore scene !

Although we were a bit tired of the night before, on stage I got so much energy from the people there that I was all hyped up ! After that, we drunk some with the anniversary crew ( JE ! ) and signed lots of t-shirts, cellphones and entry tickets. It was awesome really ! For me, at the moment, the best dedicated hardcore crowd lives in Moscow!

After the club closed, we were safely brought to our hotel for a good night sleep.

The next day our plane left at 10PM so there was still time to see the city. I actually wanted to see bunker42, but for some reason we couldn't because you had to book it in front. Because of
John's first time in Moscow, we had planned to be tourists again and so we went to the famous Red Square and some other sightseeings. That part of Moscow always looks awesome ! The GUM department store looked very nice with all the christmas decoration! We took some nice pictures, and just chatted.

After a long day in the cold, it was time for a hot Starbucks coffee and our trainride back to the Airport. It was a very cool weekend!

I hope we get invited again in 2013 because Moscow is pure hardcore for us ! The scene is incredible !

November 23th - Gabberland, St. Petersburg

Last friday we were up early, because our plane to St. Petersburg was leaving at 10AM.

We flew with SAS from Brussels national airport to our Arlanda, Stockholm and from there we flew to Pulkovo airport in St. Petersburg. We landed approx 5PM  after an easy flight.

We were picked up by Vadim ( from Gabbers78 Events ) and Petr ( who talked very good English - compliments Petr )

First stop, the restaurant. Bruce and I were both craving for steak so we drove to Korova Bar next to our hotel, a very stylish restaurant with an even more stylish toilet. We had a very nice steak, best I had in a while.

After that it was time to go to the hotel, which was also very nice. We were staying in the Holiday Inn on the 10th floor.

After an hour of chilling we went to see a bit of the city with Petr.

In an hour there's not really much you can do, so we went to a big mall, and saw some cool buildings. It was a pitty we were not there longer, cause St. Petersburg looked so cool. ( maybe next time ? hint hint )

After our very short citytrip, it was time to finish up at the hotel and go to the club. We had a party to play at! And we did not know what to expect!

At the club , unfortunately there were not that many people. BUT, the people that were there, partied hard ! And that's the spirit ! Also with not many people at a party, you guys came to party and you guys did ! It was awesome to see ! Better than in Holland were sometimes many people attend a party and there is no atmosphere. Our Critical Mass set was very cool, people were singing along and yelling !

We were so happy to get a response like that! After that we partied with the St. Petersburg crew which was quite amusing ;)

Thanks you St. Petersburg ... hope to see you next time ! вы, ребята, были великолепны!

I put some pictures up here from my iPhone ... hope you like them !

Schedule week 47

In week 47, something special is going to happen ( again ) ... cause we are leaving Holland, to go to Russia!

We went to Moscow in april as you know, but this time we are going to St. Petersburg AND Moscow ! How freaking cool is that ?? Our visums have been arranged, and we are set to go ! Only need to buy thermo clothes haha ... The dates are :
  • November 23th - Gabberland, St. Petersburg
  • November 24th - JE Crew anniversary party, Moscow

Hoping to see many enthousiastic people just like last time, cause that was one of the greatest parties ever!

November 17th - Happy Wonderland, Beesd

At a party like 'Happy Wonderland', it's always hard to play, because of so many good dj. I mean, Dj Paul, Mental Theo, Waxweazle, Dune and Highlander are all oldschool heroes.

Also all happy hardcore tracks made will be played several times, so when you have to start at 4, chances are very big people think 'that track again' ?

So we stepped up the game, and played some very nice early tracks. Started off with 'Geleihoofd', and people went nuts !

I didn't expect people to be partying that hard at 4 in the morning, but they did ! Damn !

Much respect to all partypeople still raving like it was their last party, we had a blast ! I hope you did too !

Thanks to Confusion Events, for again another great booking!

November 17th - Pump Up The 90's, Hardenberg

Although I normally play only with my dj Bruce ( Mogwai ), the Pump Up The 90's organisation asked me if I could do some hosting with our good friend Dj Bass D .. because I love the PUT90's shows, I said yes !

These parties are well taken car of, every dj / artist has it's own dressingroom.

The show itself was pretty commercial. No hardcore beats, but mostly happy hardcore ( radio edits ) with a small touch bassdrum .. Not what we are used to, but nevertheless much fun !

Bass D did a good job, mixed very good, and gave the people lot's of hits to dance to. Other acts were Mental Theo and 4 Tune Fairytales .. I didn't see both, because we were set later than the both of them.

Here are some partypictures taken at the event :

Schedule week 46

In week 46 we have two gigs. Well, actually I have 2 gigs, and Bruce has one. I have been asked for a special hosting with colleague dj 'Bass D' at a very big 90's party, called 'Pump Up The 90's' .. The two gigs this week are :
  • November 17th - Pump Up The 90's, Hardenberg
  • November 17th - Happy Wonderland, Beesd

It's a long drive between the gigs, but both are going to be cool .. One very big and commercial, and the other one with all colleagues ( like Paul Elstak, Mental Theo, Dune etc. ). Hopefully we can play a bit harder then ;)

November 10th - It All Started In The Nineties, Echt

Last saturday is was time for another 'It All Started In The Nineties' ... always fun, because these parties are mostly in our own region.

This time it was in a club called Stoba, in a small place called Echt, about 30km from our own hometown Heerlen.

The 'IASITN' parties are well known for their funny flyers/posters, where you see all kinds of 90's figures like Mario, Sonic, 2unlimited and more ...

When we arrived, the party was already in full effect and it was quite busy. We had to close down and that's always cool to do.

The people wanted to party and we gave them a party. We went from happy to hard and back. They loved it.

Hope to be back in 2013 at one of the 'IASITN' parties, thanks Minority Events, you guys are great !

Schedule week 45

After last week ( Brescia Italy ) it was time to play in our own country again, and what better than just close to our own city. The party where we had to play was well known in our region.
  • November 10th - It All Started In The Nineties, Echt

The "IASITN' posters and flyers are everywhere ... they are kind of like a warner bros logo but with all kinds of 90's characters. You will see it in the party review !
Stay tuned to our twitter and facebook pages !

October 31th - Slave to the Rave, Brescia

2 days ago we went to Italy, Brescia to be exact to play at one of the most legendary clubs in hardcore history .. Club Number One ! the club where Italian hardcore has begun.

Although I have been in the scene for a long time, I was never in this club. So when Edwin from NRG events invited us, it was a straight and clear YES !

Our flight was on wednesday at 12PM, except it had a 4 hours delay. So our flight left at 4PM! But we were going to play in Italy, so we didn't care .. we were at the airport with Dj OCD and Gangsta Alliance so we were not bored.

The flight was okay ( just some movie watching ) and after we arrived at Milan Bergamo, we were picked up and went to the hotel. After a great pizza with dj's and Italian crew, it was time to get ready and go to the club. Our settime was at 11PM to 12AM.

We arrived at the club at 10.30PM, and it was not yet very crowded. In this club there can be 20.000 people !! WOW! We put our dj stuff in the booth and got a quick tour by Claudio Lancinghouse himself. I haven't seen such a club in whole my life .. really awesome !

3 big area's, and pretty stylish! We were in area 2, which is the famous 'SALA 2', actually the biggest area ( which we didn't know, what a surprise that was !! )

In our area, there were some oldschool names ! Buzz Fuzz, Lars & Panic, Waxweazle, Rob & MC Joe .. all early heroes to us ! So the bar was high, but we managed to get the party started!

When we started there were about 100 people in our area, but after 15 minutes there were already about 1000 I guess. After 30 minutes the place was pretty packed and singing to Burning Love, Luv U More and Little Fantasy! I saw people wearing Pengo longsleeves, so cool ! Our set was well excepted fortunately and we were both happy !

After our set it was time to check out our colleagues. Normally ( read in Holland ) when we are ready, we go home .. but because our flight was the next day, ofcourse we stayed.

I was really anxious to hear Buzz Fuzz, Rob and ofcourse my mates Lars & Panic !

Buzz Fuzz and Lars & Panic played very good, but my heroes of this night were Rob & Joe .. it was a real Coolman dj set ! Awesome !

In the main area ( Sala Uno ) I've heard Miss K8 ( pretty hard for such a little lady ), my man Viper ( always good ! ) and Lenny Dee .. great stuff ..

In the end all the dj's were located in Sala Due, where Claudio Lancinghouse was playing! The audience went mad! They were pogo'ing and building some kind of pyramid ( people climbing eachother ) it was nuts ! Never seen that before ..

Next day, our plane was leaving at 2PM, and we were picked up at 12AM. It was an EPIC night!. For people that really want to have a good hardcore party, go to Club Number One if you have the chance ! Hope to be here next year !

Thanks NRG Events for this opportunity!
