January 19th - It All Started In The 90's , Horn

On saturday it was time for another 'It All Started In The Nineties' from our friends from Minority Events.

By now you know these parties from the 90's poster/flyers.

It was not too far from where we live, in s very small place called Horn, about 50 km from our hometown.

The club was called 'De Postkoets', which means something like 'The Stage Coach' ...

Don't know why, but because of the name of this club we didn't had high expectations, but boy oh boy were we wrong !

When we arrived, it was about 1.30 AM and the placed was pretty packed ( about 500 people ), the club looked very good and had a big stage.

That gave us so many energy, that it was time to rock that stage ! Our setttime was from 2-3 AM.

We played lot's of happy stuff, and people were dancing and singing like in the early days ! Very good ! The vibe was awesome ! This is the way to start 2013 !

Thanks partypeople at De Postkoets for partying this hard and ofcourse to proof us wrong and thanks Minority Events for having us again ...

Schedule week 3

The first gigs of the year ! Love it ! After a 2 weeks break ( well actually I had one hosting job last week at Darkravers Hotzone in Germany ) it's time for Critical Mass dj team to get started again ! I hope it's going to be a busy year, just like last year. The first gigs are : 

• January 18th - Arno's Birthday Bash , Beesd
• January 19th - It All Started In The 90's , Horn

December 14th - 90's Party, Geldrop

Last friday we were invited by our friends from the 'It All Started In The 90's' dj team to play a happy hardcore set on a new location in Geldrop, a small place near Eindhoven ...

It was a new venue, so we had no expectations, and the organisation already texted me that it was not very crowded. But that doens't mean it will not be a party when we arrive !

We arrived at 1.45 AM and there were about 30/35 people, dancing a bit to the sounds of some 90's R&B and popmusic ... Hmmmm, this party needed some BASS! At 2 AM, we started our set and immediately people were awake !

All of a sudden 15 more people came in ( don't know where they came from ) and they started to dance. It was time to get these people sweatin'.

We played from happy to early, to hardcore ... and back. We even played some Yellow Claw tracks. For the people that don't know Yellow Claw, it's a 2012 dj team which takes old tracks and put them in 2012 refixes, but with a touch a dubstep, trap and hardstyle ... it's a crazy style !

The people went for it ! Massive energetic ! Geldrop showed us their love ! The venue was pretty cool too ... This could be one for the future !

Schedule week 50

After a weekend of no gigs ( believe me, sometimes that is very relaxing), this weekend we have two gigs, and a special event we are attending ! The whole hardcore nation is talking about it ... THUNDERDOME ! The final one ! But first, we can't forget our gigs !

• December 14th - 90's Party, Geldrop
• December 15th - Rainbow Rave, Uelsen (Germany) 

Yes, we are going abroad again ... This time in megaclub ZAK .. at the famous happy hardcore party Rainbow Rave .. looking forward ! Friday we are closing down, so it's going to haaaaaaardcore hehe ... 

December 1st - Pump Up The 90's, Gorinchem

Our first gig last saturday was a big one ! Almost every time these Pump Up The 90's parties are sold out, and this one was no exception. Although the 'Evenementenhal Gorinchem' is a little smaller than the one in Hardenberg, there will still 1900 people ! Wow !

The artists at this party were 2 Brothers on The 4th Floor, The Darkraver and us.

Our settime was from 11.45PM to 12.30AM. Very short for a dj set, so it had to be powerful !

When we walked to the stage, I noticed that the crowd was standing about 10 meter from the stage. Pretty strange. For me an extra challenge to still get them to come closer! At parties like this you cannot play everything .. the crowd is more commercial so there will no 'Geleihoofd' from Darrien Kelly to name one ...

We started pretty relaxed, playing some cool happy hardcore tracks, but then trying to test the audience. I saw a lot of people dancing their asses off, even girls on high heels making that gabber moves .. so cool !

In the middle of our dj set it was time to play '98 To Your Mind' the ultimate bootleg made by Viper & Evil Activities .... First people sang along to Highlanders ' Hold Me Now, and after that the great 98 To Piano melody comes in ... I think 1000 or more people were standing with their hands up in the air ! What a great moment !!

The set was great, and half way the people were already close to my stage. So everything went quite well ! We were really satisfied and so was the organisation.

Hoping to do some cool stuff for them in 2013 !

Schedule week 48

After our adventures in Russia, it's time to hit stages again in Holland. On saturday, we have to gigs !

• December 1st - Pump Up The 90's, Gorinchem
• December 1st - Wonderful Days, Dordrecht

Very cool parties .. one pretty commercial and the other good old happy hardcore ! YES! 

November 17th - Pump Up The 90's, Hardenberg

Although I normally play only with my dj Bruce ( Mogwai ), the Pump Up The 90's organisation asked me if I could do some hosting with our good friend Dj Bass D .. because I love the PUT90's shows, I said yes !

These parties are well taken car of, every dj / artist has it's own dressingroom.

The show itself was pretty commercial. No hardcore beats, but mostly happy hardcore ( radio edits ) with a small touch bassdrum .. Not what we are used to, but nevertheless much fun !

Bass D did a good job, mixed very good, and gave the people lot's of hits to dance to. Other acts were Mental Theo and 4 Tune Fairytales .. I didn't see both, because we were set later than the both of them.

Schedule week 45

After last week ( Brescia Italy ) it was time to play in our own country again, and what better than just close to our own city. The party where we had to play was well known in our region.

• November 10th - It All Started In The Nineties, Echt

The "IASITN' posters and flyers are everywhere ... they are kind of like a warner bros logo but with all kinds of 90's characters. You will see it in the party review !

October 5th - House Of Revolution, Eindhoven

Last friday we had two gigs in 2 different countries .. The first one was opening House Of Revolution in Beursgebouw in Eindhoven ..

Opening is always a thing, because when you start, the chances are big there aren't much people around yet. Beursgebouw is a pretty big building, which can hold about 7/8000 partypeople ( we were here on Queensday and the placed was packed ).

When we arrived ( 9.45 PM ) the building was still pretty much empty ( only organisation and bar people ) but after the doors opened, and we started our set, people came in ... after abut 20 minutes, I think 6/700 people were already partying. They really showed us love ! Eindhoven is always great to play ! In the end there were about 1500 people which was awesome ! This was a great way to start to evening !

We didn't had much time to stay, because at 12 AM it was already time to start our next dj set!

Other dj's that night were Flamman & Abraxas, Mental Theo, Dune and The Darkraver.

Schedule week 40

Friday we will have two gigs again ... and again two different ones ! One in Holland and the other one in Germany.

• October 5th - House Of Revolution, Eindhoven
• October 5th - Time2BeHappy, Aachen ( GER )

In Eindhoven we will start the party and afterwards we will drive ( fast ) to Aachen, because there we will do a dj set and I will host the party!

September 29th - The 90's Are Back, Leeuwarden

It had been a long time, since we were in Leeuwarden, a beautiful town up in the north of Holland ( a 3,5 hours drive ) Last time we played in one of the coolest clubs in Holland, Noa .. We did the live act, at a party called House The 90's, an early hardcore concept promoted by MC Da Mouth Of Madness. Very nice !

Now it was time to go a bit more commercial, because this was a real 90's party ! And that means no loud basses, but only the coolest happy hardcore tracks, with some eurodance in between. People needed to singalong just like in the 90's, and they did ! Wow what response ! Location was Schaaf City Theater.

I saw girls 'gabberdancing' ( in Dutch they call it 'hakken' ) on their pumps, so awesome ! We played all classics one hour of real happy hardcore. 'Hardcore Vibes', 'Rainbow In The Sky', 'Wonderfull Days' and many many more.

At the end it was time for one more track .. so we did the one track everybody sings along, even if you're drunk lol .. it was time for 'I Like It Loud' from Marshal Masters. What a great track that is. It rocked our set big time !

Thank you Leeuwarden for that great response during our set, thanks you 'The 90's Are Back' for having us and we hope we can visit Leeuwarden very soon again !

Schedule week 39

After almost 2 weeks off ( where I spent one week on the beautiful island of Sicily), it is time to get on stage again ... this saturday we are playing at 2 different locations.

• September 29th - The 90's Are Back, Leeuwarden
• September 29th - Experience The 90's, Weert

In Leeuwarden we will do a real commercial dj set, because it's a real 90's evening ( other audience then we are used to ) and in Weert we will close down so that will be haaaardcore. Everything is possible right ... ? They don't call us the 90's PARTYSQUAD for nothing right ... ?

September 15th - 90's Night, Hoensbroek

Saturday was a complete different party as the day before. A small bar, with just a handfull of people, but the party atmosphere wasn't less ...

This was a 90's party, with all kinds of music from the nineties, ( from oldschool r&B tot Spice Girls lol ) but where we ofcourse played a happy/early set ( to take people back to that infamous 90's hardcore scene ... )

It started of pretty low-key, but after a few tracks people got loose! At the end, everybody in the bar was doing the oldschool gabber moves .. lol ..

And that's what we are all about ! We just want to see people move and go crazy ! Great response afterwards !
